With consumer confidence low, long term investment hard to secure and a need to reinvigorate the UK economy, we were delighted to be asked to represent the best of UK design and innovation on a Trade Mission to South Korea.
We joined experts such as Sebastian Conran, the Design Museum, Seymoure Powell and Priestman Goode at a capacity 400 South Korean business seminar in Seoul.
We were the only innovation strategy company there from the UK and had great meetings with the Samsung, LG, Hyundai, and many others. We also stopped off to teach at Hongik University as special guests to give a lecture about innovation process.
The Minister for Media Culture and Sport Ed Vaisey did a great job talking up the creative industries, and another prize should go to business ambassador John Sorrell who clearly articulated where the UK could add value to a country that is already extremely creative and competitive in the design sector.
Fortunately for us, there are not many people doing Innovation strategy out there - yet! We are going back soon.
