Science Museum, London
Just over 18 months ago, the Science Museum asked us to work with them on a new exhibition on climate change. We helped them to explore who the potential audience for such an exhibition might be, and what kinds of visitor experiences would best meet their needs.

Just over 18 months ago, the Science Museum in London asked us to work with them on a new exhibition on climate change. We would help them to explore who the potential audience for such an echibition might be, and what kinds of visitor experiences would best meet their needs.
We brought together scientists, content designers, exhibition designers and climate change experts for an Innovation Lab. Then, with the Science Museum content team, we rapidly prototyped alternative visitor journey concepts to assess which ones worked the best and why.
The resultant new gallery 'Atmosphere, exploring Climate Science' was opened by Prince Charles just before christmas. It doesn't do the obvious shock-tactics thing (the research showed us that this approach rarely persuades people).
Instead, the designes have done an amazing job of making the vast range of information about climate change accessible. They've made it possible for people of very different viewpoints to successfully explore the science of climate change. And they've made it fun and lovely to look at too.
